NON-PROFIT AND VOLUNTEER WORK
2023 - PRESENT
from 2023-2024 I had the pleasure of working as the Artist Mentor / Artistic Director for Studio 84 inc. An art non-profit focused on supporting artists with disabilities. Working for Studio 84 has allowed me to create large-scale art projects for the studio, and has opened doors to new opportunities working for the City of Whitewater as a board member on the city's public art committee. This page of my website is dedicated to all of the projects I have been able to work on thanks to my work with local non-profits and The City of Whitewater.
A KALEIDOSCOPE OF COLORS
Each year, Studio 84 inc. hosts a fundraiser gala to celebrate the artistic talents of their artists. in 2024, I had the honor of painting a mural for the inside of the studio to celebrate how unique each artists is.
This mural was an interactive piece, as the studio artists were encouraged to design their own kaleidoscope paintings to hang and display with and over my mural.
This mural will be displayed for all of 2024 and part of 2025.
"COME TAKE A SEAT"
In 2024 I was asked to paint a bench so that the community would be able to sit next to the Little Public Library in downtown Whitewater, WI.
This project was inspired by arts education, as I focused on recreating my favorite Van Gough pieces with my own personal spin on them. The goal for this piece was to create a comfortable resting spot, brighten up a little corner of Whitewater, and hopefully spark an interest in public art in the community.
WORDS HAVE POWER
Studio 84's Dance and Theater program was asked to perform at the the Whitewater Multilingual Heritage Showcase, and asked me to design signs representing struggles that each member of the dance program faced.
They chose the wording themselves, and asked that I design signs that displayed hope, bravery, or strength overcoming their struggles. We chose flowers to represent them blossoming regardless of their struggles.
